June 1st, 2010I just picked up some samples of strawberries from a local grower and they have to be the biggest I’ve ever seen!!
The quarter is to show actual size comparison. Have to explain, someone asked me what the quarter was for when I showed them.

This is usually the time when all Oregon strawberry farmers start their harvest. But due to Oregons “liquid-sun shine” most farmers wont start harvesting for at least a week or two. But there are farms that were lucky enough not to be hit by recent cold weather we’ve been having. Lots of blossoming fruit plants and trees were either battered by the cold weather or “PULVERIZED” (I like that word, dont get to use it much) by marble sized hail. Which isnt bad when you consider the Oklahoma hail.

Thanks to all those that pre-ordered, we had to change the delivery date to today (instead of yesterday), but everything turned out okay. Memorial day is around the corner and we are jam packed with orders to deliver. Order now to get in on the schedule for memorial day on monday.
